Chairman’s Welcome
Report from Hamburg The 22nd International No-Dig Conference and Exhibition was conducted from 15-17 November, 2004 in Hamburg, Germany’s major northern port. This event was sponsored by the International Society for Trenchless Technology and undertaken by the German Society for Trenchless Technology at short notice as it was originally planned to be held in China in 2004.
Secretary’s Corner
Membership Fee Increases Over the years, the Society has managed to keep the fee increases to a minimum, but with rising prices and the commitment to completing the obligations as outlined within the Business Plan, there was regrettably a need to increase fees.
ASTT wins ISTT “No-Dig 2004 Award” for educational program
The Australasian Trenchless Technology industry has confirmed its place at the forefront of the world-wide industry with another ISTT Award.

In 2005 the New Zealand Water & Wastes Association (NZWWA) and the Australasian Society of Trenchless Technology (ASTT) will once again host a combined Annual Conference & Expo in Auckland, New Zealand from September 28-30, which will be the largest and most important event in the New Zealand water and wastes industry.
TT Asia Pacific heads to Brisbane
After being situated on the Gold Coast for some years, in 2004 TT Asia Pacific decided that relocating to Brisbane would offer a better service to customers. After settling on a new location in Mansfield, TT Asia Pacific celebrated their move with an Open Day during February 2005.
2004 ASTT National Conference
The 6th National Conference of the ASTT took place in Melbourne from September 27-29 2004. The conference featured a range of speakers, including some high-profile overseas guests as well as a very successful trade exhibition and a range of social events.
