ASTT Vice Chairman and Councillor for New South Wales John Monro spoke at the Conference and reported a high level of interest about Trenchless Technology among the attendees.

Originally formed in 1909 by the Lord Mayor of Sydney as the Sydney SOC, it agrees on space allocations for utility services and sets codes of practice or guidelines relating to these services.  The Conference seeks to co-ordinate the interests of utility/service providers, local councils and anybody who has a requirement to excavate within a public right of way.

To acknowledge the centenary, an exhibit was mounted to encompass the past, present and future work of the SOC. It was an informative and exciting view into life underground.
