More than 1,000 delegates attended the conference. Many took the opportunity to view the demonstrations and learn more about the new techniques that are available in NZ to seal pipe systems and provide long-term structural solutions.
The demonstrations were organised for ASTT by ProjectMax Ltd, an engineering consultancy that specialises in the investigation and rehabilitation of pipe systems.
Demonstrations were conducted by Pipework Rehabilitation Solutions, who demonstrated a CIPP inversion, and Advanced Pipeline Solutions, who showcased their lateral junction lining technology, which can line 3 metres up the lateral.
Interflow (NZ) Ltd also conducted a demonstration, mocking up a sewer system, complete with manholes and lateral connections, that demonstrated the speed of the company’s rehabilitation techniques by installing a section of spiral wound liner, re-opening a junction and installing a lateral junction repair – all within 30 minutes.

Philip McFarlane from ProjectMax Ltd said, “The demonstrations were a great opportunity for engineers and asset managers to view sewer rehabilitation works first hand. The demonstrations helped them appreciate the advances and possibilities of sewer rehabilitation.”
