The annual event aims to bring local governments together to build a sustainable future.
As part of the conference’s speaker program, Australian Greens Deputy Leader and Federal Senator Christine Milne will present a keynote address. Senator Milne took part in the successful Sustainable Councils 2010 event, where she spoke on environmental leadership and ideas for merging community and government.
Sustainable Councils 2011 is offering one free conference registration to every local government in Australia if they book before 5 August 2011.
For local governments also keen to check out the latest renewable energy technology, Sustainable Councils 2011 will be co-located with EcoGen2011, Australia’s clean energy industry conference and exhibition.
In 2011, attendees will be able to register for both EcoGen 2011 and Sustainable Councils 2011 at a reduced rate, providing access to every presentation across the co-located conferences, as well as tickets to the EcoGen 2011 social events, including the Opening Cocktail Party and the Gala Dinner.
