Ms Ratliff recently joined the company’s water group as a Principal Engineer and has more than 25 years of management and project delivery experience. This experience has included supervision of project teams and contractors, budget management, schedule control, development of studies, reports, and design contract documents.

Her paper, entitled ‘Phased approach to water pipeline condition assessment’ will be delivered at 1.30 pm on Wednesday, 5 October.

Ms Ratliff has also managed large projects requiring extensive coordination with utility, permitting, and client agencies.

Her specialty focus has been on water and wastewater condition assessment and rehabilitation projects in many states in the United States, Kuwait and Lima.

A recent focus has been on water pipeline condition assessments, using state-of-the-art technologies and practices to provide design and maintenance recommendations to extend the service life of these assets.

For many years, Ms Ratliff worked primarily on sanitary sewer and storm pipelines and associated appurtenances for planning, design, construction and maintenance considerations.

She is also the Chair of ASTM F36 Committee for New Technologies. Formerly Ms Ratliff was Northwest Region Governor for the Society of Women Engineers and President of the Berkeley Engineering Alumni Society for Southern California.
