Over the years HDD has become widely accepted and the benefits of the technology can be seen environmentally, financially and through the minimal disruption caused in high-traffic areas.

One of the recent projects that BTB has worked on is the electrical and signalling conduit installations on the Very Fast Train Project between Melbourne and Bendigo. This involved many major multiple conduit installations by HDD at railway stations and specified areas along the route, often in very tough rock conditions.

BTB also installed five communication conduits under Collins St, in Melbourne’s CBD during August, providing data and communication optical fibre links from the Rialto building to the Australian Stock Exchange for Digital River, a licensed communications carrier. The works were well planned and completed in a 10 hour shift, boring under tram tracks, installing pits, conduits and building entrances.

BTB is also currently engaged on a major gas pipeline construction project for Tenix in Bridgewater, Tasmania. BTB drilling machines are installing gas reticulation pipelines in most streets in this suburb as Tasmanian consumers are preparing to have natural gas connected to their homes for domestic heating and cooking. Working together with the Tenix crews, BTB drillers continue to install the gas pipes with minimal disruption to the local streetscapes.

Another job BTB was recently involved in was a series of conduit upgrades at Melbourne Airport.

Despite their busy schedule, BTB can continue to offer their range of services on any major pipeline or communication project requiring HDD or open cut installations.
