The vCam Inspection Camera range was successfully launched at CivEnEx in 2009 and has since received a mid-life upgrade. The control console is now modular, which will allow for ease of servicing and repair as the equipment ages. The MP4 player has been updated to 320 GB and now allows downloading to USB stick, SD card or computer. The system now also takes JPEG shots.
Also being launched is the new vCam LSR, a welcome addition to the vCam family. The 20 m, 5 mm push rod reel is fully compatible with the vCam Modular console, so it can be used with the handheld screen, or as part of the full vCam system. This now gives SebaKMT reels of 20, 30, 60 and 120 m.
Another new addition to SebaKMT’s range is the TVS-10 Portable Inspection Camera, designed for quick and easy underground inspection and diagnosis of industrial tanks, vessels and pipes. This is a high-quality camera on a lightweight carbon fibre telescopic pole that is spring loaded for stabilising. It is ideal for 100–1,500 mm pipes. The camera can be dropped down a manhole for a quick check to see what is blocking the system. By using high-intensity discharge lighting and a high-end zoom, it is possible to focus on an object up to 120 m away. A quick check can also determine what resources will be needed to effect a repair and which manhole will be needed for access.
SebaKMT’s Surface Penetrating Radar is now available with onboard 3D software. This enables the operator to conduct their survey and look at it in the field using 3D analysis. This allows viewing the survey in ‘slices’ and assists in making a more informed decision about the contents of the picture. Manipulating the software allows the operator to see the line of the pipe or cable showing in the frames. This is an exciting development in radar technology, because decisions can be made onsite rather than going back to the office for lengthy post-analysis.

The company’s locator range continues to be popular. Technology used in the vLoc Pro allows one locator for different services. Unlike other products on the market, with the vLoc Pro, users only need one main model, and don’t require units ‘tuned’ to suit different services. This gives the operator complete flexibility and simplicity.
The Easyloc is still the best and simplest cable-avoidance tool with many features that are found only in much more expensive models. In fact, the vLoc Pro and Easyloc are so versatile and easy to use that they are now the locators that are on exclusive contract with Telstra.
The accessories for SebaKMT’s locators are also extensive, which includes a full range of sondes for using with push rods or other items. All locators are able to be set up for use with locating sondes, again saving the need to buy extra items.
