Jock Styles, a ProjectMax Director says, “We had great feedback from participants, who said that the CCTV courses were worthwhile and really encouraged them to think outside the square.”

ProjectMax offers two CCTV training courses; a one-day course for council engineers and asset managers, which helps them determine which assets should be inspected during a CCTV program and then covers how to interpret the CCTV data received.

The second course runs for two days and is for CCTV operators and those involved in CCTV inspections of sewers and stormwater systems. This course assesses participants against the NZQA Unit Standard 22107. The course includes practical field exercises, provides examples of good practice in CCTV work, as well as time spent coding sections of pipework.

“Over the past five years, contractors and engineers have had to learn and deal with a lot of new CCTV software, evolving asset management systems and the use of DVDs for recording,” said Jock.

“Our aim with the CCTV training course is to help engineers and contractors work effectively with these industry changes, and gain optimum results.

“ProjectMax has also set up a discussion forum on www.projectmax.co.nz which anyone can contribute to, as participants in the courses felt there was a need for more information sharing around CCTV inspections and pipeline rehabilitation work.”

ProjectMax runs its training courses through Events Division Ltd and plans more CCTV courses in mid-2007. ProjectMax can also provide in-house courses tailored to an organisation’s particular needs.
