The theme for this year’s conference, “More for your money – doing more with less”, will focus on getting the most out of resources and will explore environmental issues, large diameter pipes and innovation within the pipeline industry.
As in previous years, one of the key objectives of Pipes Wagga Wagga is to challenge delegates to examine their daily work practices and asks them to discuss how to ensure more efficient methods are always applied.
The first Pipes Wagga conference was held in 1991 when staff from the City Council became aware of the magnitude of the problems the city had with concrete sewer mains laid prior to 1920. To gather the information needed to deal with the problem, a workshop with experts was organised. It soon became obvious that this workshop would be of value to a wider group of organisations involved with water engineering and the first Pipes Wagga Conference was organised and the event has grown to now be held biannually.
The theme of each Pipes Wagga conference is always different, but with the same underlying perspective - providing the practitioner with improved knowledge of the management of water and wastewater assets. The committee tries to ensure that the main topics of presentation and discussion are always applicable to the important aspects of the current day.

The strongest feature of the conference has always been the quality presentations relevant to the industry. A sharing of actual experiences, live field demonstrations of reliners, pipe crackers, data equipment, pipe location experts, pipe inspection equipment, suppliers, contractors and pipe cleaners are incorporated in the conference.
The after hours activities have also proven to be a great opportunity for professional networking and entertainment and will again play a vital role in the overall balance of the conference.
Trenchless Australasia will have a strong presence at Pipes Wagga Wagga. Magazines will be distributed at the conference and staff will be on hand to answer any of your questions about the magazine.
If you are from a discipline involving planners, local authorities, engineers, scientists, consulting engineers, industrialists, environmentalists, equipment suppliers, contractors, service contractors, academics and researchers, then Pipes Wagga Wagga will be of value to you.
The program is again packed with informative presentations, on-site demonstrations and networking opportunities which can never be underestimated. These experiences will combine to give delegates a “real” take home package of technology and challenge which is so vital to the industry.
