By working closely with its customers, the company has answered the need for a dedicated and specific instrument for this demanding marketplace. Based on the industry standard RD4000 platform, the RD4000PL delivers precision location of power infrastructure, even in crowded and electrically noisy environments.
Radiodetection also recognises that power utility engineers not only want to locate their services but also to avoid and map other utilities in the area as well as identifying potential cable to earth sheath faults.
The RD4000PL has been designed to use multiple active frequencies. It has current measurement and peak and null modes to aid discrimination between utilities. As requested by the power industry, a depth measurement is available on both active transmitter and power signals. Depth can be set to auto or manual modes.
The latest, patented digital signal processing techniques give the RD4000PL the ability to reject unwanted signals to a level never achieved before. This high performance is optimised for operation in the most demanding of environments such as congested sites and sites with overhead electrical cables. The RD4000PL enables users to work closer to high-energy signals such as sub-stations without signal overload.
