2010 Business Plan Updates

Network Development: To develop additional membership and pursue business development opportunities as they arise.

Water New Zealand Conference and Exhibition

The ASTT had a significant presence at this year’s Water New Zealand Conference and Exhibition, held at the Christchurch Convention and Exhibition Centre 21–24 September.

Not only did we be exhibit in order to attract new members, but there was also a dedicated trenchless stream of exciting papers presented during the conference. A special thanks goes out to Steve Apeldoorn, the New Zealand Councillor, for all the work he has put in to this event.

Trenchless Live 2010 Coffs Harbour

This inaugural event is shaping up to be one not to be missed. Great Southern Press, through their Managing Director Mr Chris Bland, has developed a fantastic program to suit one and all. Attendees will have opportunities to look at a vast range of trenchless equipment being displayed, view a similar range of equipment actually being operated all at the one location, listen to and participate in a series of trenchless discussions undertaken by panels of trenchless experts and enjoy the social program and networking opportunities whilst there.

Trenchless Live 2010 will take place from October 18–20, 2010 at Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, and everyone is invited to come along and take a look and see and enjoy the experience.

Formalise Events Management

For some years now, Great Southern Press has taken the lead in organising ASTT events, most notably the 2008 National Conference in Sydney and the 2009 National Conference in Melbourne, as well as this year’s innovative event in Coffs Harbour. During that time, GSP and the ASTT have been discussing and reviewing the best structure under which future events can be organised, and I’m pleased to announce that we have now reached an agreement which I’m sure will survive for many, many years to come. To all those Councillors – past and present –that provided valuable comments over the years, thank you.

The Events Agreement will mean that Great Southern Press will now have an exclusive licence to produce the ASTT’s National Conferences under an arrangement which provides long-term certainty for both parties and ensures the interests of the ASTT and its members are paramount, while allowing new developments and innovations.

Jeff Pace, Secretary, ASTT
