The Brisbane seminar, being held on 1 August at the Brisbane Hilton, will include a number of valuable presentations and will be followed by a dinner to allow industry members to catch up in a more relaxed setting.
Southeast Queensland is undergoing an infrastructure boom, driven by an expanding population and a prolonged drought. The State government, local government and various agencies are working together with engineers and contractors to create a system of infrastructure that can cope not just with today’s demands but with future generations as well.
Much of this work involves underground construction and Trenchless Technology is playing a major role. Trenchless professionals need to know what is happening in southeast Queensland so they can take advantage of this boom, and councils and other utilities need to be aware of what options Trenchless Technology offers them.
Trenchless Technology is changing the way underground infrastructure is managed in Australia and trenchless practitioners, and those that can benefit from the use of Trenchless Technology, simply cannot afford to be left behind.

The combined problems of increasing urbanisation, environmental restrictions, aging infrastructure and diminishing water supply all point to the use of Trenchless Technology as not just an option, but in many cases a necessity.
Topics to be covered include details of anticipated work coming up in the region; selecting the right trenchless technique; managing the water crisis; and alliance contracting and public-private partnerships, presented by representatives of Brisbane Water, Brisbane City Council, the Queensland Co-ordinator General and major law, engineering and contracting firms.
The importance of trenchless practitioners keeping in regular contact outside of their day-to-day business dealings cannot be underestimated. The information, experience, news, technology and more which can be exchanged when you’re least expecting it can often be the most useful. There will be plenty of opportunity at breaks, lunch and then drinks afterwards to catch up with old friends and colleagues and meet new people. An attendance list will also be made exclusively available to those in attendance so you can follow up any contacts you make.
If you are based in Queensland, then the choice is simple, you must attend this event. If you’re from interstate then August is a great time of year to visit the Sunshine State – so why not make the most of this event and combine a valuable chance for professional development with the chance to pop in to one of Australia’s most liveable, not to mention rapidly growing, cities!
