Watani polycrete pipe and MH systems

These resins consist of up to 90 per cent quartz tic, oven dried fillers, including mineral sands and grit with a grading curve of 0 to 16 mm, with polyester resin as a bonding agent.

Advantages of using polymer concrete include its high compressive strength, which allows high jacking force and maximum safety; GRP joint collar for maximum safety during jacking; a smooth outer pipe surface thus reducing friction with resultant lower jacking forces; parallel pipe ends providing uniform distribution of jacking forces; high dimensional accuracy thus no ovality or tight joints and perfect match; elasticity, reducing point loading and risk of rupture; low weight for ease of installation; adaptable dimensions making it suitable for all micro-tunnelling and jacking equipment; smooth, even inner surface giving a high flow rate; high corrosion resistance giving reliability throughout a long service life; and the fact that complete systems are available for jacking pipes, open cut pipes and manholes.

Jacking Pipes

The proven mechanical and chemical performance of polymer concrete, supplemented with the latest state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, makes these pipes ideally suited for micro-tunnelling, pipe jacking and sewer applications in
general.

Pipes are manufactured in a full range of sizes to suit the most diverse range of applications and harsh climatic conditions. Standard stock sizes range from DN250 and DN3000 in 1, 2 or 3 m lengths dependent upon diameters. Joints for jacking pipes comprise a mounted collar integrated into the pipe wall either in GRP or stainless steel with a joint seal of micro-cellular expanded rubber and sealing sections. Special pipes are available to facilitate ports for bentonite injection and inter-jack stations.

Sewer pipes for open cut works

Pipes are manufactured in a full range of sizes, DN200 to DN2000, all in 3 m lengths, with a nominal push fit spigot and socket joint using a rubber seal ring. Recommendations for bedding are dependent upon the prevailing soil conditions; detailed static calculations can be provided.

Manholes

The fundamental principle behind the manufacture of polycrete manholes is to build a completely corrosion resistant and leak proof sewer. Manhole sections like the rest of the “÷Polycrete Range’ are manufactured in Al Watani’s modern state-of-the-art factory in Kuwait.

Complicated manholes with varied pipe connection, floor configurations, channel bends and internal and external bottom drops are all available to clients’ requirements. The system manholes in polymer concrete correspond fully to the pipes in their material and wall design with manholes manufactured in accordance with DN4034.
