Mr White will manage engagement with industry stakeholders through regional managers, industry skills advisers and technical managers.
He will also manage the development and use of the SkillsDMC workforce planning and development tool Skills Maximiser.
Chief Executive Officer Steve McDonald said “Chris is a long-time advocate of industry-driven approaches to workforce development in the civil construction industry, and is strong fit for SkillsDMC.”
Mr White’s key achievements include leadership in the introduction of the first Civil Construction Training Package in 1998 and his ongoing role in the evolution of this package into the current Resource and Infrastructure Industry Training Package.
He will join the council on 1 August.
