In the last edition of Trenchless Australasia, the ASTT promoted a range of trenchless educational courses (basic and masterclass) in all states and territories for further trenchless education. These classes have now finished around Australia and New Zealand, and attracted a strong crowd of attendees once again. This demonstrates the ongoing need to inform and educate trenchless stakeholders regularly, as the industry continues to grow. The ASTT will keep pushing this education to promote the trenchless industry.

At the recently held Annual General Meeting of the ASTT, only one change to the State Councillors was actioned. Kane Scott from South Australia has been formally replaced by Tim Bartholomaeus as the new councillor. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kane for his contribution to the ASTT over the last five years and wish him the best for his future endeavours. Tim is also from SA Water and we look forward to his involvement in the future.

All trenchless industry participants should now be planning their involvement with the Trenchless Live 2012 event to be held in Melbourne at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds from 23-24 October 2012. It promises to be a fantastic event to promote and learn about the trenchless industry in Australia and New Zealand.

The ASTT will be promoting this event and International No Dig 2013, to be held in Sydney, at the upcoming Singapore Water Week and at this year’s International No Dig to be held in Sao Paolo in Brazil. Details for both events are in the events page in this edition of Trenchless Australasia if you are interested in coming along.

I hope that all trenchless industry participants continue to get involved in this great industry. I look forward to seeing or speaking with you at one of the upcoming trenchless events.
