Sydney Water to renew St Clair and Orchard Hills mains

The renewal work will be done by Sydney Water’s NetWorks Alliance, which is comprised of Sydney Water, Lend Lease, CLM Infrastructure and Veolia Water Network Services.

Work has begun on Chatsworth Road, St Clair and Caddens Road, and Orchard Hills, and is expected to be finished in November 2012.

Sydney Water Managing Director Kevin Young said the investment is part of a broader $A177.3 million spend across Sydney Water’s water distribution systems and sewer networks for 2012-13.

“This type of work improves the performance of the water supply system and helps to reduce the amount of water lost each year through leaks and breaks,” Mr Young said.

“During the work Sydney Water will work closely with local Councils, the RMS, local residents and businesses to minimise construction impacts.

“Sydney Water owns and operates a 21,000 km pipe network, which delivers water to more than four million people across the Sydney, Illawarra and the Blue Mountains,” he said.
