Mr Botteicher will discuss changes in pipe materials and joining methodologies, specifically thermoplastic pipe materials and the use of Fusible PVC pipe, and the impact this has had on the expansion of this installation method. Mr Botteicher will outline the materials and technology that are causing this expansion and highlight impacts the changes have had on installation methodology through three case study examples in the US and New Zealand.

Richard (Bo) Botteicher is a professional engineer with 14 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry and design community. Bo has served as a senior product engineer with Underground Solutions, Inc. for the past seven years and specialises in horizontal directional drilling (HDD), sliplining, and pipe bursting installation methods. Bo is active with the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Water Works Association. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of NASTT, participates on the technical program committee for the NASTT No-Dig conference, and the program committee for ASCE Pipelines 2013.
