Mr Murphy and Mr Donnelly will highlight the innovative measures used to meet the project’s tight deadlines.
About the speakers
Mr Murphy graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He received a Masters in geotechnical engineering in 1978. Mr Murphy has worked for horizontal directional drilling contractor Golder Associates as a geotechnical engineer. He then spent 17 years working in the mechanically stabilised earth business in Canada, US and South America.
Since 1998, Mr Murphy has been in the pipeline and Trenchless Technology industry. He has co-authored a number of trenchless and geotechnical papers. Mr Murphy currently resides and continues to work in the trenchless field in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Mr Donnelly is a Principal Civil Engineer with GHD and has wide-ranging experience in the design and project management of major multi-discipline primary infrastructure projects. As a member of the GHD team for the Curtis Island Infrastructure Project, Mr Donnelly had overall responsibility for project and design management.
Prior to this project, he was the Program Design Manager for the Beenleigh Merrimac Pimpama Wastewater Alliance, which included 24 km of reticulation sewerage, 900 mm and 1,200 mm diameter gravity sewerage (7 km in tunnel), pump stations, and associated sewerage and recycled watermains.
