Mr Tomita will outline the sludge-based jacking method that tunnels through obstructions remaining in the earth such as concrete piles, PC piles, steel sheet piles and H-steel piles safely and at a low cost. He will discuss the results of projects that have implemented the method.
About the speaker
Masaharu Tomita has worked on tunnelling projects for 26 years. He has been involved with maintenance of equipment used in tunnelling projects, equipment development, project execution, project design and project planning, and is now mainly in charge of the development of tunnelling machines. He currently works as Design Department Manager for Yasuda Engineering.
