Reviving India’s sewer networks

Mr Balasubramaniam will discuss the application of Trenchless Technology to restore the brick sewers in Mumbai and Delhi, as well as planned sewer rehabilitation works in Kolkata in the next five to ten years.

About the speaker

Bala Balasubramaniam is the Managing Director of TTI Consulting Engineers in Sydney and a fellow member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, UK.

He has been involved in many trenchless projects in Australia, Singapore and India and worked as a trenchless expert on World Bank and Japan Bank for International Cooperation-funded sewerage projects in India.

Mr Balasubramaniam’s experience in trenchless work spans more than three decades and he has published more than three dozen technical papers on trenchless sewer installation and renovation for many trenchless conferences held in major cities.

Mr Balasubramaniam is one of the pioneering engineers in microtunnelling works and has had much hands-on experience in this industry.
