Melbourne Water announced a shortlist of preferred proponents in May 2013, and has recently finalised the tender process and contracts with two service providers.
The service providers to bid for the proposed $A1 billion worth of projects from the Water Plan’s projected $A2.5 billion program are:
- John Holland and KBR; and
- Thiess and Black & Veatch.
The new capital delivery model will require the service providers to compete for work on a project-by-project basis rather than in a large bundle of work, helping to drive more competitive prices. The selected service providers comply with the Victorian Code of Practice for the Building and Construction Industry.
