The directional drilling has been carried out under Fairwater Drive at the Smeaton Grange wastewater pumping station.
The drilling work is being carried out by Bothar Boring & Tunnelling.
The $A10.4 million upgrade to the Smeaton Grange wastewater system started in October 2012 with the replacement of wastewater pumps to increase pumping capacity of the station. Construction of a large emergency wastewater storage tank was finished in June this year and the installation of the new wastewater pressure main is currently underway and expected to be completed by the end of 2013.
Local Member for Camden Chris Patterson said “Sydney Water is enlarging the system to Narellan through the construction of the additional pipeline along Camden Valley Way. The new pipeline will transfer wastewater from the Smeaton Grange wastewater pumping station to the West Camden Water Recycling Plant.”
