Simon Coles was selected for the role following a long term career with Vermeer Australia spanning 25 years.
The role will encompass operational support across all of Vermeer Australia’s surface mining, oil and gas field project work, and a range of equipment including track trenchers, surface miners, mud systems and mud pumps and large-scale drilling systems.
Mr Coles has obtained a broad technical and commercial career during his time with Vermeer, making him a clear choice for the role. His comprehensive experience within business operations at Vermeer Australia, including liaisons with the customer network and Vermeer Corporation worldwide is a necessary background for the role.
Managing Director of Vermeer Australia Peter Pullan said Simon’s appointment comes during an era of growth for the division.
“We recognise that the continued expansion of our operations in the Mining and energy sectors brings greater challenges in terms of service delivery and governance requirements. There is no other person in or outside our organisation who could more capably direct the expansion of this most important area of our business,” Mr Pullan said.
