Queensland Councillor’s report

The ASTT’s annual general meeting (AGM) on 1 May 2014 saw my role as the new Queensland Councillor formally announced.

I’m very pleased to now be involved in the Society where I will make positive contributions to the industry and benefit our members.

Expect a call, Queensland members!

Some key initiatives were discussed at the AGM, such as the establishment of some special interest groups.

More information on these groups will be disseminated over the coming months.

I replace a gentleman who has given so much to the trenchless industry, Andy Krumins.

I would like to thank Andy for the positive contribution that he has given the trenchless industry over many years – you will be missed.

The trenchless industry in Queensland is experiencing some change with gas projects and mining projects slowing.

That said, there is some positive activity in the water industry with some key capital projects being announced by Queensland Urban Utilities, Unitywater, Townsville City Council, Bundaberg Regional Council, Cairns Regional
Council and Seqwater.

In my new role as QLD Councillor I would encourage members and non-members seeking information regarding the trenchless industry to approach me via the ASTT website: astt.com.au/about_astt/councillors
