Exciting project opportunities announced for trenchless contractors

Barwon Water has announced an open tender for a water main renewal project in Victoria.

The utility is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced principal contractor to complete the design and construction of the water main renewals program.

This contract is for a period of 3 å_ years with works to be allocated and reviewed on an annual basis.

Indicative value of the works over the term of the contract is approximately $13.4 million.

The contractor must have the capability of providing the following construction techniques:

  • Trenchless replacement of water main by pipe bursting
  • Trenchless replacement of water main by slip lining
  • Trenchless replacement of water main by directional drilling
  • Open trench replacement of water main.

This tender closes on Friday 24 October 2014 at 2 pm.

The Goulburn Mulwaree Council, New South Wales, is seeking tender applications from suitably qualified service providers for the provision of gravity sewer rehabilitation services through trenchless technology for a period of three years from December 2014 to 2017, with an option to extend it for another two years at council’s discretion.

The closing date for this tender is 28 October 2014.

A contract has been announced by the Cassowary Coast Regional Council, Queensland, for the design, supply, installation and testing of two thrust bore machines.

The tender will include testing in the following locations;

  • Bruce Highway and QR railway
  • Tully Sugar Tramway (contractors must be experienced in pipe jacking and the joining of a large bore HDPE pipe).

A contract for the relining of stormwater pipes in South East Queensland has been announced by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

The tender applicants are invited to undertake stormwater pipe relining across seven locations within the local government area.
