The assignment was announced at the World Water Congress, which began this week in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The contract will see Scottish Water International (SWI) link up with global engineering and construction firm KBR to provide strategic advice, including expertise on asset management in South Australia.
As part of the assignment SWI will share knowledge and make recommendations based on its experience of delivering an annual investment programme in Scotland worth around å£500 million.
Scottish Water International (SWI) is a subsidiary of the public utility, set up to offer specialist consultancy services to overseas clients, including governments and utilities. In the past 12 months, the consultancy has achieved a turnover of more than å£2 million.
The consultancy recently completed an assignment in the Canadian city of Calgary, and is continuing to work in Doha, Qatar, as part of a five-year drainage improvement project.
