The report provides a comprehensive view of all known building and construction in New Zealand for the six years ending 31 December 2020. Visibility of New Zealand’s forward construction pipeline is intended to improve the productivity of the building and construction sector and help moderate its boom and bust cycle.
The report found that New Zealand is building more value than ever before, with the value of all building and construction forecast to grow to over $NZ36 billion by 2016, $NZ7.5 billion higher than the last peak in 2007. This growth is driven primarily by continued growth in the residential building sector in Auckland.
