Through the deployment of a highly trained staff, specialised plant and a dedication to innovation Concrete Treatments NZ (CTNZ) has worked tirelessly to make its motto of extending the life of assets a reality for projects and existing infrastructure all throughout New Zealand.
CTNZ recognises the full spectrum of forces that infrastructure assets must endure over time – from corrosion and ageing to the development of leaks, voids and unstable ground conditions. To prevent and combat these forces, CTNZ identifies and develops cutting edge products and services, implementing them throughout infrastructure sectors such as trenchless rehabilitation works, stormwater and wastewater reticulation networks, pump stations, manholes and hydro tunnels.
Recently the company identified the breakthrough GeoSpray mortar from Milliken Infrastructure as an opportunity for New Zealand clients to address a major gap in the market for a true structural liner.
An asset rehab revelation
GeoSpray is a fibre-reinforced mortar optimised for ease of mechanical pumping, spraying and spin casting. Designed for large diameter stormwater and wastewater pipe rehabilitation the high strength, ultra-low porosity material produces a structural liner with improved compressive and flexural strength, high adhesion to damp surfaces, lower permeability and an increased resistance to abrasion, corrosion and aggressive chemical attack.
Resistant to substances such as fats, oils, gases or marine chloride ions, GeoSpray’s natural mineral polymer makeup is predominantly sourced from recycled waste streams and has a low carbon footprint. Boasting 80-90 per cent fewer emissions compared to Portland
cement, GeoSpray is styrene free, containing no leachable toxins as certified by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
To date, CTNZ has successfully deployed GeoSpray on several projects in New Zealand, including projects for both the Christchurch City Council rebuild team and maintenance divisions.
CTNZ’s track record for successful infrastructure rehabilitation and protection projects spans the entire length of New Zealand. Merging the science of manufacturing with the art of application, the company’s strategy of introducing the latest and greatest products is in lockstep with its policy of looking after every project from start to finish.
The company is poised to further revolutionise the rehabilitation of water assets across NZ.
