Since the last edition, preparations for No-Dig Down Under have continued.
I am happy to say that many very good technical papers have been reviewed by the conference committee.
I am positive that everyone attending will enjoy the technical program.
In Victoria, the Trenchless Forum was held on 16 July.
It was kindly sponsored by No-Dig Down Under and was very well attended.
A special thanks needs to be extended to the speakers Megan Lehn, Rohan Ogier, Steven Nash and Alberto Vella for taking time out of their busy schedules to prepare presentations and attend. I would also like to thank the people who travelled long distances to attend.
We have received positive feedback and plan to hold another forum soon.
Trenchless projects around Victoria are progressing quietly with new projects starting daily – overall a strong position for the industry.
Major infrastructure projects such as the Melbourne Metro Rail, Rail Level Crossings Removal Project and Melbourne Airport Upgrade will result in significant tunnelling activity and asset relocation, predominantly via trenchless methods.
As such, it is expected that growth in trenchless solutions will continue as a necessary part of all capital works programs to ensure sustainable solutions to ageing infrastructure across all sectors.
