Tender: Water main renewal using HDD

The Carlton Main Sewer Project has been awarded to John Holland and Kellogg, Brown and Root Joint Venture. The project oversees the renewal of 1.35 km of the sewer between Pigdon and Princess streets in North Carlton, Melbourne. The old sewer is currently being relined internally to minimise cost and disruption to the local community. The 114-year-old Carlton Main sewer services more than 15,000 households and businesses across the Melbourne suburbs of Carlton, Brunswick and southern areas of Coburg. Melbourne Water will also construct a new 510 m sewer under Scotchmer and Pigdon streets between Rae Street in Fitzroy North and Amess Street in Carlton North. The construction began in Scotchmer Street this month and will take over 18 months to complete.
