AU$15 million sewer upgrade planned for Lochinvar

funding for water infrastructure

The upgrades include the installation of a 3 km water main and the construction of two pumping stations. As the pipeline runs through several private properties, a large portion of the work will be completed using under-boring. This will minimise the impact of work on nearby residents. The Lochinvar area is currently transitioning from rural to residential with up to 5,000 new homes planned for construction and the population expected to reach 100,000 by 2040. Hunter Water’s interim CEO Jeremy Bath said “Lochinvar is on the brink of becoming a vibrant suburban setting, bringing with it young families and new investment. “Hunter Water is excited to be a part of Lochinvar’s transformation. Building the water and sewer infrastructure today means that development can proceed quickly and with certainty.” The pipeline and sewer upgrades for Lochinvar are part of a major program of works across the Maitland area. The works are valued at AU$205 million and are scheduled for implementation over the coming decade. For further information visit the Hunter Water website.
