EOIs for Unitywater leak detection program closing soon

The leak detection work includes all of Unitywater’s trunk water main network infrastructure, which has pipes ranging in diameter from 300 mm to 1,500 mm. The trunk main network is 910 km, which is approximately 16 per cent of the total water network. The utility is interested in any leak detection system that is repeatable and has little to no impact on the day-to-day operations of water supply. Unitywater has no preferred methodology for the work and has previously trialled a number of technologies including pipeline frequency leakage detection. Any and all providers are invited to respond to the call out, including international firms with expertise in leak detection. Established in 2010, Unitywater now operates in one of the fastest growing regions or Australia and provides water and sewerage services to 16 per cent of Queensland’s population. The utility manages and operates more than AU$3.16 billion of vital infrastructure, which includes more than 5,731 km of water mains.
