The airport link is an AU$2 billion project aimed at connecting the city with the airport through a series of tunnels, extending the rail network and connecting the city’s eastern suburbs to the public transport network.
The contract shortlist includes:
- Forrestfield Connect (ACCIONA, BAM International and Ferrovial Agroman)
- JHL JV (John Holland and Leighton Contractors)
- SI-NRW JV (Salini Impregilo and NRW)
Expressions of interest for the project opened in early 2015 and the final project proposals were submitted in late 2015.
Submissions will be assessed based on design, price, innovation, resourcing, and community engagement.
Work on the airport link is scheduled to commence in 2016.
