Relining project completed in southern NSW

With the route of the main passing under a major highway, Trenchless Technology was selected to ensure minimal disruptions and inconveniences to road users.

Two separate pulls totaling 700 m were undertaken to renew the watermain service commencing from Quinns Lane and finishing on the other side of the Princess Highway in southern NSW.

This relining was completed using Interflow’s Titeflow technology, resulting in a minimal loss incurred to the 500 mm diameter of the service.

The Titeflow process uses standard PN100 pipes which are die-reduced to compress the pipe allowing it to be drawn through the host pipe under tension.

Once the tension is released, the pipe expands returning to its original size, forming a tight fit within the host pipe.

Installation of the new liner was completed at night taking advantage of the quiet empty streets where the lengths of pipe could be welded together without causing disruptions to businesses along the road.
