ASTT hosts successful NSW Technical Forum

Hosted by ASTT Councillor for NSW Nabil Issa, attendees heard from four speakers on industry issues and advancements in technology.

Russell Groth from Mainmark kicked-off presentations with a case study on structural new-age pipe and culvert rehabilitation

Sean Wharton then lectured on HammerHead’s range of trenchless equipment and outlined how they have been utilised in rapid gas-line slitting and replacement with winches throughout North America.

IMCD’s Russell McKay discussed trends in CIPP in Europe, and Virginia Hilliard of Australian Drilling Industry Training Committee outlined qualifications and VOCs for trenchless drilling contractors.

The event was made possible through with sponsorship from Ditch Witch Australia, Mainmark and Abergeldie.

The next ASTT VIC Technical Forum will be held on 1 September at The Harbour Kitchen in Melbourne’s Docklands.

There has already been a high number of registrations for the event, which will feature presentations from Ged Beckton from Qenos, Scott Collins and Graeme Watkins from SE Water and South Gippsland Water respectively, as well as a special presentation on the Melbourne Metro Rail Project from Peter Wilkinson.

In addition to the next Victorian event, the ASTT’s QLD Chapter will be hosting a Trenchless Networking and Presentation Event on 15 September in the Trophy Room at the Paddington Hotel.

The event includes presentations on how to make the trenchless industry safer, products to aid your next project and a case study of the Sydney City Area Stomwater Renewal from Insituform
