Vermeer releases new Verifier G3 locator

Users can expect the same features as the G2 product line, including a durable design with antennas mounted in rubber isolators, and a three-year McLaughlin warranty and weather-proof guarantee.

Among the additional features of the G3 is a new combination screen, eliminating the need for users to toggle between two screens, allowing them capitalise on the benefits of the peak and null modes.

The semiautomatic gain adjustment feature maintains the receiver’s sensitivity to the magnetic field emitted by a utility line.

dsc01654McLaughlin Product Manager of Electronics Matt Manning said “The benefit of the semiautomatic gain is that it’s a very precise method of locating — especially in congested areas.

“Because manual gain is a more commonly used method of locating, some contractors are hesitant to try the semiautomatic gain feature.”

The G3’s dual functionality means contractors can use the semiautomatic gain on congested sites where signal distortion is common, and the manual gain method when working in less congested areas.

The addition of automatic depth and current measurement index (CMI) means when the user is over a utility line, the estimated depth and CMI will be automatically displayed.

“The automatic depth estimate offers the user a nice interface. It’s easier, faster and more user-friendly,” Mr Manning said.

vermeer1The compass icon simplifies the locating process by automatically calculating peak signal and informing the user the direction of the utility path, making it easier to locate the line.

“McLaughlin is dedicated to its customers and delivering products that meet their needs,” he said.

“With the Verifier G3, we are responding to our customers’ request for a simpler, quicker locator that maintained the current accuracy, durability and reliability of its predecessors.”

The Vermeer Verifier G3, by McLaughlin, is available now in all markets.
