WSP appoints tunnels manager in New Zealand

John Seward was selected for the role late last year, starting in WSP’s Auckland office on 28 November.

Mr Seward is a geotechnical engineer with experience in the transport, property and power markets; the appointment is part of the WSP’s strategic growth in New Zealand.

WSP Section Executive for Geotechnics and Tunnels Doug Graham said “John’s experience in geotechnics, engineering geology and geo-environmental engineering complements our NZ-based team.

“He has worked on high and low-rise residential developments, city centre regeneration, healthcare and education, geothermal and hydro power projects, mine infrastructure, railway and roading infrastructure and numerous geotechnical site investigations.

“John has a strong background leading projects involving building geotechnics, reinforced earth, slope stability assessment, modelling and remediation.

“His emphasis on technically sound geotechnical solutions will be invaluable to our clients, our team and it will strengthen our offering for the City Rail Loop.”
