Melbourne infrastructure event features MMRA CEO

Melbourne Metro Rail Authority CEO Evan Tattersall will detail the project’s progress at the 9th Annual Victorian Infrastructure Conference 2017, taking place on 21-22 March at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The AU$10.9 billion Melbourne Metro Rail project includes the construction of two 9 km underground rail lines, linking the suburbs of South Yarra and Kensington, and the construction of five new underground stations along the route.

Early works recently commenced in Melbourne’s CBD in preparation for major construction, with the project expected to be completed by 2026.

The Victorian Infrastructure Conference will also feature presentations on other transport infrastructure projects underway in Victoria, including VicTrack Chief Executive Campbell Rose on the AU$588 million Mernda Rail Extension Project and the AU$140 million Hurstbridge line duplication, as well as RMIT Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Urban Research Dr Crystal Legacy with on strategic transport planning to combat Melbourne’s urban sprawl.
