NULCA offers underground asset location course

The course is ideal for those with some electromagnetic (EM) locating experience wishing to improve their skills or become a professional locator, such as existing locators and their assistants, utility and council Workers, surveyors and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operators.

Participants who complete the course will be accredited national competency in line with ‘RIICCM202D Identify, Locate and Protect Underground Services’.

The course covers the following topics:

  • Transmitter and receiver basics
  • Signal trace frequencies
  • Methods of signal injection and tracing techniques
  • Blind searches
  • Trouble shooting
  • Uniform temporary ground markings.
