Utility relocation begins at Forrestfield Airport Link site

Services around the Belmont Station construction site need to be relocated, including gas, water, electricity and telecommunications.

Utility sub-contractors will perform the relocations to ensure that construction at the site does not interfere with service delivery.

The relocation of the Vocus fibre optic service is currently underway in Brearley Ave, Coolgardie Ave and First St, and is scheduled for completion later this month.

ATCO Gas started the relocation of its services in late March and will now begin works in First St and Brearley Ave.

Western Power will underground its power lines along sections of Bulong Ave, Brearley Ave, Central Ave and Second St and Water Corporation will re-locate its water main between 141 and 147 Bulong Ave.

The AU$2 billion project involves the construction of a new train line to connect the eastern suburbs of Perth with existing networks in the CBD.

Twin bore tunnels will be excavated beneath the Swan River and Tonkin Hwy to accommodate the 8.5 km rail line, and three new stations will be created at Belmont, Airport Central and Forrestfield.
