Waikato Council seeks Asset Information Officer

The role is necessary after a number of significant water projects in the region have resulted in a variety of opportunities within the waters area.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing, distributing, and collating all of the council’s water assets relating to waste water, storm water, and solid waste management.

It also requires strong processing management skills, and the ability to improve the way information is managed, processes and systems.

The council has stipulated applicants must hold a certificate or diploma in geographic information system (GIS), or a qualification in engineering, as well as at least two years’ experience in a related field, and demonstrable knowledge in operating and managing GIS and/or asset information systems.

A sound understanding of services provided by utilities and asset inspection, data review and data updating is also expected.
