Program highlights

The Exhibition Hall is scheduled to officially open on Tuesday 12 September the Exhibition Hall, giving attendees the chance to talk to exhibitors and see the latest Trenchless Technology products and innovations.

Presentations will begin on Wednesday 13 September, with the keynote addresses presented by Trenchless Opportunities Consultant Dr Dec Downey and Queensland Urban Utilities Principal Civil Engineer Scott Stevens.

The topic of Wednesday’s presentations includes installation, rehabilitation, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), condition assessment, utility mapping and water mains.

Thursday’s presentations will focus on microtunnelling, design, projects and repair, as well as a panel presentation focusing on reviewing the new microtunnelling guidelines.

The list of speakers includes many notable industry representatives, including Stuart McCurdy from Papworth’s Construction Testing Equipment speaking on the use of ground penetrating radar technology to reduce equipment damage and site risks, and James Martin from Yarra Valley Water speaking on emerging technologies for gravity pipeline assessment.

Entrance to each day’s sessions is free and capacity is limited, so it will be a first in, first seated basis.

The Gala Dinner will be held on Thursday evening and will include the announcement of the ASTT Awards which recognise excellence in the Australasian trenchless industry.

The event will conclude on Friday with the final event: a panel session promoting collaboration between utilities and trenchless professionals, which will take place in the Exhibition Hall.
