The first forum took place in Melbourne, Victoria on 8 March at the Woodward Conference Centre, followed by an event at Sydney Water’s headquarters in Parramatta, New South Wales on 22 March.
The Australian forums were followed by the Trenchless Technology Forums Roadshow, which visited Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch from 20-22 March.
The Australian Forums covered a range of topics, including the automation and optimisation in drilling fluids; relining laterals, house connection branches and jump ups; the new microtunnelling design guidelines for sewers developed by the ASTT Microtunnelling Special Interest Group; and an overview of InsituMain cured-in-place pipe technology.
The New Zealand Forums Roadshows featured presentations on PE100 materials dedicated to the trenchless industry; rehabilitation of pressure pipes using a Kevlar® reinforced composite lining system; an alternative approach to water mains cleansing; Mangakino wastewater reticulation – to renew or not renew; and an overview of the introduction of precast concrete caisson units to New Zealand market.
The Victorian forum was sponsored by Qenos, The Drain Man and AMC Drilling Optimisation; The Drain Man and AMC also sponsored the NSW Forum.
The NZ Forums Roadshow was sponsored by PipeWorks.
