Water Corporation plans trenchless refurbishment

Water Corporation General Manager Assets Delivery Nick Churchill said the project formed part of an ongoing program to reline and refurbish wastewater pipes across the state.

“Around 1.3 kilometres of wastewater pipe will be refurbished over the next five months,” said Mr Churchill.

“We use Trenchless Technology to reline wastewater pipes where possible, to minimise the impact on the community by reducing the need for extensive excavation.

“Work will be in the vicinity of Robert Street, Canning Highway, Park Street, Baldwin Street, Talbot Avenue and Saunders Street.”

The refurbishment, which will extend the lives of the pipes by a minimum of 50 years, is expected to be completed in September 2018.

Water Corporation manages more than 16,000 km of wastewater main across WA.
