ISTT extends deadline for No-Dig Awards

The ISTT’s No-Dig Awards will be awarded at the 36th annual International No-Dig Conference and Exhibition – this year hosted by the South African Society for Trenchless Technology – at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa on 8–9 October 2018.

The awards recognise excellence in the international Trenchless Technology industry and are an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the no-dig industry for the previous year.

Submissions may be made in four categories: academic research training; trenchless project completed*; new machine*, tool, material, system or technique; and student or young professional paper.

Applicants may submit one file per entry and should prepare submissions in English, with a 1,000 word limit and include relevant illustrations.

Submissions close Friday 20 July 2018.

Criteria

The criteria for award selection includes the entry’s innovative, ingenious, elegant or novel approach and contribution to the global advancement of Trenchless Technology, environmental protection or social cost reduction, commercial and economic practicability, and impact on ISTT members and a wider audience.

* As of 2018, an additional criterion stipulates that entries for the trenchless project and new machine categories are limited to ISTT members with corporate membership.

Award winners

During the ISTT’s International No-Dig South Africa, winners will be presented with awards, in addition to being featured in the 2018 Winter edition of Trenchless International.

Award winners will have permission to use the ISTT logo on promotional material related to winning the award, as well as the opportunity to make a brief presentation on the award at No-Dig South Africa, time permitting.

The student award winner will also receive a monetary grant and financial travel assistance to attend the conference in Cape Town.
