CRL requests stations and tunnel contract proposals

CRL has requested proposals for the major tunnels and stations contract – the C3 Work Package – on the project to extend Auckland’s passenger rail system to provide for the estimated population growth over the next 30 years.

The two shortlisted tenderers for the contractors are:

C3 activities include tunnelling works, station construction, building and architectural works, utility management, street and foundation reinstatement and asset management for the three new stations: Aotea, Karangahape and Mount Eden.

A recent adjustment to the C7 and C3 contract scopes means the development of the tunnel ventilation system and fire engineering works will also fall under the C3 Work Package.

The request for proposal process is expected to be completed by February 2019, with the contract awarded by the end of March 2019.
