Contractor wins stormwater relocation contract

The project will provide an alternative to the West Gate Bridge, upgrading the West Gate Freeway and linking it to the city and CityLink.

Under the contract, Adept Civil Group will relocate the stormwater alignment to make way for the AU$6.7 billion West Gate Tunnel.

Works will involve relocating using open cut and boring to shift the alignment of 3 km of stormwater infrastructure along Footscray Road.

The tunnel boring machines, which will build 6.8 km of tunnel between the Maribyrnong River and the West Gate Freeway, are scheduled to be launched in 2019.
