Tasmanian utility awards capital works contract

WTP

The JV comprises CIMIC Group companies UGL and CPB Contractors, which will work in an alliance with TasWater to manage the delivery of infrastructure planning, project development and delivery of capital works across TasWater’s regional asset network.

Part of the alliance is the commitment to using and building local capability and capacity by prioritising local business participation.

The capital works program includes water and wastewater treatment plants, water networks, dams and water storage projects, as well as general asset renewal programs.

The contract will generate approximately AU$150 million/a of revenue over a four-year period for CIMIC Group.

“Backed by CPB Contractors’ experience in major project design and construction, and UGL’s water sector expertise, we are pleased to partner with TasWater to manage the delivery of world-class infrastructure for the people of Tasmania,” said CIMIC Group CEO Michael Wright.
