WSAA introduces asset management network

Barwon Water drop

Based on the Utility Excellence Committee (UEC) and network sponsors’ review in 2018, three asset management networks – the Asset Maintenance, Operations and Renewals Network; Asset Planning, Resilience and Creation Network; and Service Planning and Optimisation Network – have agreed to form the Asset Management Network.

WSAA’s new group will address some of the opportunities identified in the review of the UEC networks, including:

  • enhancing customer outcomes through whole life cycle asset management within the water industry
  • identifying gaps and priorities to achieve the future asset management vision for the industry
  • identifying emerging trends in areas of asset management
  • championing implementation of outcomes from asset management network initiatives within utilities.

The inaugural meeting was attended by 39 WSAA representatives from across Australia when it took place in March.

The meeting focused on identifying themes for ongoing collaboration to enhance asset management practices and outcomes.

Two more meetings are planned for 2019 and an advisory group will be established to assist the network delivering its objectives.
