No-Dig Down Under releases conference program

In addition to a packed exhibition hall and the ASTT Technical Training Courses, No-Dig Down Under’s world class conference program will feature three dedicated conference streams: installation, rehabilitation and utility location.

Tuesday

On 10 September, three ASTT Technical Training Courses will take place ahead of the conference: the Cured-in-place Pipe (CIPP) Good Practices Course, the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Good Practices Couse and the New Installation Methods Good Practices Course.

Following the courses, the Official Exhibition Opening, sponsored by Vermeer, will take place at 5–7pm at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Wednesday

On 11 September, ASTT President Chris Frangos and Great Southern Press General Manager Annie Ferguson will present the opening address, marking the launch of the event.

Four presentations and a panel session on the impact of urban development on underground infrastructure, before lunch – sponsored by Interflow – is served in the exhibition hall; following lunch, the program will split into three streams.

Installation stream

This stream will feature presentations covering microtunnelling planning and design, as well as microtunnelling and pipe jacking projects.

Rehabilitation stream

This stream will feature presentations addressing sliplining for pipelines, as well as rehabilitation guidelines, specifications and project planning.

Utility location stream

This dedicated utility location stream will include presentations on a pipeline damaged by horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and insights into the future of information sharing between excavator and asset owner.

The conference sessions will close at 5:30pm, with the Networking Reception – sponsored by Vermeer – taking place from 6:30–11pm at Common Man in South Wharf.

Thursday

On 12 September, delegates will start their day with fresh coffee in the conference area before the presentations begin at 9am.

Installation stream

This stream will feature presentations on HDD project planning and design (sponsored by DCI), HDD projects, challenging installation projects (sponsored by Pezzimenti Trenchless), and new installation planning and geotechnical engineering.

Rehabilitation

Presentations in this stream will focus on asset management and condition assessment, rehabilitation projects, relining projects (sponsored by Smart Lock) and liner performance.

Utility location

This dedicated utility location stream will include presentations on locating technologies, data, drone use, skill development and more.

Delegates will have ample opportunity to explore the exhibition hall during morning tea – sponsored by Vivax Metrotech – as well as a longer opportunity to network in exhibition during lunch, sponsored by KRE.

After the conclusion of the final conference sessions, the much anticipated ASTT Gala Dinner and Awards Evening – sponsored by National Environmental Equipment (NATEE) – will take place in the Sovereign Room at MCEC from 7–11pm.

Exhibition closing – Friday

On 13 September, the exhibition hall will open at 9am for the final day of the event.

In 2019, the Exhibitor Customer Lunch – sponsored by Trenchless Australasia – will take place in the exhibition hall from 12pm to 2pm; the lunch will be open to all event attendees and exhibitors are encouraged to invite clients and customers.
